The National Council of Cultural Patrimony (CNPC) of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cuba, is the office charges to etablish and declare gthe properties that take part of the cultural patrimony of the nation, that are protected by the Law No. 1 about protection of cultural patrimony andof its regulation, and Decree 118 of the Council of Ministry.

The National Musuem of Fine Arts has rebuilt its old building, Fine Art Palace, opened since 1955. Its collections has been enriching day by day with paintings either national or foreigner artists. The old building has been reorganized only for Cuban Art Museum. The Asturian Centre of Havana is used for exhibiting Universal Arts from Greek, Greece, Roma, up to XX Century European and American collections.

The National Library of Cuba José Martí, as the depository of the country's documentary, bibliographic, artistic and sound treasure, is a heritage of the most representative of universal culture. The institution serves as the rector of the National System of Cuban Public Libraries with 399 libraries throughout the country.

Founded in 1959 by Haydee Santamaría, and currently presided by Roberto Fernández Retamar, Casa de las Américas promotes, researches, sponsors, awards and publishes the work of writers, visual artists, musicians, theater artists and scholars of literature, arts and social sciences in the continent.
